Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)

Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair in specific body areas.
During laser hair removal, the light that is transmitted is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is then converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage prevents or delays future hair growth.
At Optimal Healing Center & Medspa, we utilize the Venus Epileve which is safe for all skin types.
The Procedure is relatively painless and will be more effective than waxing long term. Laser Hair removal generally requires at least six treatment sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

Shyma Andrews is a board-certified Family Nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
Shyma brings an extensive 16 years’ worth of medical experience that intertwines conventional, functional (root cause) and integrative medicine.Her specialty includes women’s health, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), infectious diseases, sexual health, obesity medicine (including medically supervised weight loss), aesthetics (botox, fillers, liquid BBL, mesotherapy (fat loss promotion), platelet rich plasma (for joint pain, hair loss), stem cell therapy, manual lymphatic drainage and post-operative care of the post-surgical client, sexual dysfunction in males and females, intravenous vitamin therapies, customized infusions and care plans centered on longevity and wellness from a multidisciplinary approach.
Shyma is the lead medical director and provider of Optimal Healing Center & Medspa located in Bridgeport, Fairfield and Danbury Connecticut. She collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary team and other integrative specialties. She is also the medical director for an after school and summer camp program located in the state of Connecticut. Shyma currently services clients in CT, NY, DE, MD, FL, HI, CO, NV, MA, DC, RI with licensure pending in MN and AZ.
Shyma continues to give back by mentoring nursing students both at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the clinical setting. She currently runs a consulting company that seeks to empower Nurses and Nurse Practitioners on maximizing their career path as well as encouraging peers to pursue entrepreneurship from a solid foundation.
When Shyma is not working, networking or mentoring; she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. One of her favorite quotes is: “The vision is yours, no one else needs to understand it but they can help execute it”. She believes in creating a healthcare environment unlike any other, that fosters healing of mind and body. An experience her clients love and appreciate.
